Casa Hogar Una Luz en mi Vida

Since 2010, we have had the pleasure of working closely with the local orphanage in San Jose, "Una Luz en mi Vida." Once a week, we send fresh farm produce, meats, and bakery items to the kids, ensuring they have nourishing meals. Moreover, we host special events where they are our VIP guests, celebrating occasions like the Day of the Dead, Easter, Christmas cookie decorating, and fun and educational farm activity days.

Looking ahead to 2024, our future goals include providing the children with cooking and English classes, enhancing their skills and opportunities for the future.

We cherish our relationship with "Una Luz en mi Vida" and are committed to brightening the lives of these wonderful children in any way we can. Together, let's continue spreading love, hope, and growth within our community.

Las Animas

As a proud member of the Las Animas community, we are deeply committed to promoting campaigns for nutrition, medical, and dental needs. The first medical and dental health campaign we organized was an overwhelming success, and we recognize the importance of continuing these vital initiatives. As a result of this initial campaign, we established open dialogues with the local government, seeking collaboration to improve the health center and ensure the provision of essential services to our community. 

This summer, we were thrilled to host the children of Las Animas for our Movie Nights. These camps were designed to create cherished memories, foster meaningful connections, and bring joy to the young hearts of our community. 

Our primary goal is to uplift and support the overall well-being of all our community members. By addressing various needs, including nutrition, medical care, and dental services, we aspire to enhance the quality of life for everyone in Las Animas. 

Casa de Dia

Recently, we've built a beautiful relationship with Casa del Dia, a government seniors’ day lodge in San Jose del Cabo. Currently, we provide them with fresh produce, ensuring they enjoy healthy meals. 

The real joy came when we had the wonderful opportunity to host 50 seniors for a memorable farm day. Seeing their smiles and laughter was truly priceless. Looking ahead, we're eager to create more special activities for these lovely seniors and provide materials to enrich their center. 

Now, Casa del Dia is a day center, but they have a dream to expand and become residential, and we're fully behind them in achieving this dream. Together, let's create more beautiful memories and brighten the lives of these amazing seniors.

Farm School Days

At Flora Farms, giving back to the community through educational experiences is a delightful way to sow the seeds of knowledge and nurture a love for the land. 

Our program offers an exciting farm morning, to both private and public schools, filled with fun and educational activities, allowing kids between the ages of 5-17 to explore and learn about farm life. During their visit, our young guests delve into the wonders of agriculture, discovering the joys of sustainable farming and the importance of caring for the environment. The day will be brimming with engaging activities that ignite their curiosity and foster a love for nature. 

To ensure a memorable experience, we provide a full lunch, giving the kids a taste of fresh, farm-to-table goodness. We've had the pleasure of hosting numerous kids in the past, and each visit has been filled with laughter, learning, and cherished memories.

International Community Foundation

We are proud to collaborate with the International Community Foundation (ICF) in their mission to support families in Los Cabos and surrounding areas. Together, we supply them with fresh farm vegetables and fruits, which they distribute to low-income families in need.

The produce we provide contributes to their kitchen, where they prepare nourishing meals for these deserving families. Working hand in hand with ICF, we strive to make a positive impact and bring smiles to the faces of those we serve. 

Zero Waste

Embracing the concept of zero waste, Flora Farms takes dedicated strides to create an environmentally conscious environment. Anything not utilized at Flora or for the mentioned centers finds its purpose at our big ranch, where we nourish our animals and compost with utmost care.

Together, we are making a positive impact, minimizing waste, and fostering a sustainable future for our beloved farm and beyond.

Flora Farms Bee Project

At Flora Farms, we take great pride in our bee sanctuary, which is home to around 70 rescued beehives. The San Jose del Cabo community informs us about swarms or hives, and our dedicated team promptly goes out to rescue them and bring them to safety here at the farm. 

These hardworking bees play a vital role in pollination for the surrounding vegetation, ensuring a thriving ecosystem. In return, they gift us with delicious fresh honey. To extend our efforts, we have not one but two bee sanctuaries – one here at Flora and the other at our big ranch. 

Saving bees is a cause close to our hearts, and we happily offer this community service free of charge to anyone looking to help these precious pollinators.

Local Rescues

At the farm, we strongly believe in the significance of animal rescue and are dedicated to supporting our local community in every way we can. 

As part of our ongoing efforts, we extend a helping hand to our staff members who are independent animal rescuers. Hosting adoption events, we offer a dedicated physical space for potential adopters to meet these precious animals.

Additionally, through our active presence on social media platforms, we introduce these rescues to a wider audience, increasing their chances of finding loving homes.

Day of the Dead

Since its inception in 2015, our annual Day of the Dead celebration to benefit local charities has become a cherished tradition close to our hearts. This wonderful event shines a light on the rich Mexican tradition while giving back to the community we hold dear. 

During this special occasion, we invite local businesses to collaborate on altars with local charities. The proceeds and prizes from the event are then distributed among these charities, creating a positive impact on their initiatives. It's a joyous occasion for our visitors, as they have the opportunity to learn more about each organization and their vital work. 

Our Day of the Dead celebration acts as a platform for these charities to reach a wider audience and share their inspiring messages.
