Painting Classes: Flora's Florals

  • Flora Farms San José del Cabo Mexico (map)

Join us every Wednesday and Friday for a creative watercolor painting class with local watercolor artist Ana Paula Fascinetto, who studied her craft extensively in France. Ana has always been incredibly inspired by the picturesque settings throughout Flora Farms, so it’s a pleasure to have her share her talents during these workshops.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned painter, we invite you to participate in Ana’s engaging classes. A minimum of 5, maximum of 8 people are required per class and we can arrange for private group classes, subject to availability.

Flora Farms is a place surrounded by the wonderful nature of Baja. The majestic mountains and colorful produce all around make this the perfect environment for artistic creativity. The inspiration for this Flora’s Florals art experience came from the outstanding colors of the floral arrangements located in and around the farm, which are some of its most iconic decorations.

During each class, our theme will be to create a composition using floral arrangements as an inspiration model. Every class is divided into two main parts: Drawing and Painting.

During the initial drawing phase, we will focus on observing elements from an artistic point of view and we will practice a few composition guidelines.
The painting phase consists of learning about the basics of colors, value, pigment, and other tips I share to help you explore the watercolor technique.
I’ve designed this experience to create a relaxed and creative feeling within you as you paint and learn; some have even described it as “a guided meditation with a brush”.

Class begins at 10 am with a delicious continental breakfast of sweet breads, coffee, and orange juice.

Following your painting session with Ana, lunch is served at 1 pm, consisting of a family-style sandwich menu (chicken breast, poached tuna, vegetarian, ham, bacon). All served on organic house-made bread, with seasonal salad, veggie chips, key lime pie for dessert, and house wine or beer.

“By the end of the painting session, it’s my hope that you leave with a memento of this colorful, inspiring farm along with a few artistic tips to use next time you have a brush in hand”, says Ana Paula.
